5 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns entered the 2019-20 season as one of the most heralded fantasy assets in the sport for good reason -- when given the opportunity, he produces across multiple categories in bunches. That was again the case during Wednesday’s season opener against Brooklyn when Towns erupted for 36 points on 11-for-22 shooting, including going 7-for-11 from long range. Towns’ season best in makes from distance last season was five, quickly bypassing that on the first night of the new year. To cap off his monster performance, he added 14 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks, finishing as of the top performers across a busy slate. He’ll look to continue packing the stat sheet Friday against Charlotte, who is expected to boast one of the league’s more porous defensive units.--Jesse Borek
