5 years agoPortland Trail Blazers center Hassan Whiteside will officially be in street clothes for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers due to a bone bruise on his left knee. Whiteside’s prospects of suiting up did not sound high after being unable to practice Saturday, which should pave the way for Skal Labissiere to see minutes at the center slot with Zack Collins also inactive. Portland catches a break in the sense that Philadelphia will be without star center Joel Embiid due to suspension, with both teams facing the possibility of employing smaller lineups. Whiteside’s next chance to take the floor comes Monday against a similarly depleted Warriors squad.--Jesse Borek
