D'Angelo Russell Goes For Career-High 52 Points In Defeat
5 years agoIf Friday’s contest is any indication, the remainder of the 2019-20 season is going to be an exciting one for D'Angelo Russell from a personal standpoint. In his first game back after a three-contest absence due to injury, Russell’s usage reached absurd proportions, finishing with a career-high 52 points on 19-for-37 shooting, including going 7-for-17 from long range. With myriad stars out of the mix for Golden State, it appears that when healthy, Russell will be the go-to man on a nightly basis, and then some. In addition to his scoring, he tied for the team lead with nine rebounds, also adding five assists, three steals and two blocks to a sensational statistical evening. He’ll aim for a repeat performance Saturday when he faces Oklahoma City on the second leg of a back-to-back.
