In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the main slate of games on FanDuel and DraftKings on 11/9/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.
It's an extremely fun slate ahead of us, with more than enough offense to go around. I'll be breaking down the later slate in a different article, so make sure to keep an eye out for that as well. FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Quarterbacks
Justin Fields - Ohio St - FanDuel $10,800 / DraftKings $9,000
Justin Fields is like a mini Jalen Hurts in the fantasy world. He doesn’t put the up 35 fantasy points consistently, but he’s without a bad game and his dual-threat versatility keeps the floor high. Ohio State is expected to wipe the floor with Maryland in this game and I expect them to run the score up as much as possible. Fields could easily see five combined touchdowns and his price isn’t nearly high enough for that level of upside. Fields is my clear number one in both formats.
Holton Ahlers - ECU - FanDuel $8,600 / DraftKings $6,700
We have two phenomenal secondary options to play with. Kicking off with Holton Ahlers, he’s coming off of a 500-yard performance against Cincinnati. Ahlers has been up and down this season, but he looked amazing in a match-up a lot tougher than this one. SMU gives it up through the air and Ahlers feels safe for 300 passing yards. This offense throws the ball nearly every play and Ahlers is too cheap in both cash games and tournaments.
Skylar Thompson - Kansas St - FanDuel $9,400 / DraftKings $6,300
We’ve picked on Texas all season long and it’s yet to fail us. Skylar Thompson isn’t much of a prolific passer, but I still think the Texas secondary gives up 200 passing yards. The majority of his value comes on the ground. With the running backs dinged up, Thompson has seen double-digit carries in four straight weeks. The seven touchdowns over the last two weeks may not be sustainable, but a match-up with Texas could certainly make it three in a row. Thompson is way too cheap in this match-up and is my go-to flex play.
Also Consider - Shane Buechele, Jamie Newman, Kyle Trask
FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Running Backs
AJ Dillon - BC - FanDuel $9,900 / DraftKings $8,700
Just a miraculous stat I’ll throw out there that I found on Twitter. AJ Dillon has faced 174 stacked boxes (8+ in LB/DL box). The second most in all of the country go to Caleb Huntley of Ball State at 85. Dillon is an absolute truck of a running back and he will run over this FSU front. There’s a concern of David Bailey getting run, but Dillon will get 20+ carries either way and the match-up is great. They’ll be looking to hold off a lead and there’s no better way to do that than with a guy who can make four or five yards out of nothing at all.
Xavier Jones - SMU - FanDuel $9,500 / DraftKings $7,200
Xavier Jones is one of the best running backs in the nation and he has huge upside any time he takes the floor. Against Eastern Carolina, SMU is going to have the lead and Jones will see a ton of volume. He’s a touchdown monster and will return over 25 fantasy points after failing to in consecutive weeks. Jones is a solid play in all formats and his price is super enticing on both sites. Especially DraftKings.
Jamycal Hasty - Baylor - FanDuel $7,600 / DraftKings $6,600
Hasty has been getting the volume for Baylor and the match-up with TCU is undoubtedly phenomenal. They are actually really good against the pass and utterly terrible against the run, so Baylor may look to keep it on the ground in this one. They’re also favored on the road, so they may not want to put the ball in the air against this tough secondary. Hasty is a solid play in all formats and I love him in cash games in this match-up.
Also Consider - J.K. Dobbins, Rodney Smith
FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Wide Receivers
James Proche - SMU - FanDuel $9,400 / DraftKings $7,300
With Reggie Roberson Jr. out, James Proche caught 13 passes last week for 149 yards and a touchdown. He’s the top wide receiver on this slate as SMU should do what they please on offense. We do like Xavier Jones and his safety, but SMU should do more than enough and put up 40 points. There’s more than enough love to go around and they could both end up over 25 fantasy points quite easily. Proche isn’t too expensive on either site and he’s a lock in my cash games and tournaments. He’s a little tougher to fit on FanDuel.
Michael Pittman Jr. - USC - FanDuel $8,700 / DraftKings $6,400
Talent-wise, Michael Pittman Jr. is one of the best wide receivers in the entire country. He looks like a man amongst boys on the outside and they find a way to get him the ball. Arizona State is pretty middle of the road as a defense, but they’ve given up 300+ yards multiple times this season and the upside on Pittman is craziness on DraftKings. Slovis and USC make sure to get Pittman the ball and he should be priced up with the elite receivers. His ownership won't be over 20%, either.
C.J. Johnson - ECU - FanDuel $8,300 / DraftKings $5,500
C.J. Johnson went absolutely nuts last week, catching 12 balls for 283 yards and a touchdown as the Pirates almost upset Cincy. Johnson is still cheap and now gets to face off with one of the worst pass defenses in the nation. Johnson is going to get a heaping of targets once again and I don’t see how you avoid him at this price. 100% C.J. Johnson is a great idea.
Dalton Schoen - Kansas St - FanDuel $6,900 / DraftKings $4,500
If you need some value, Dalton Schoen is a guy I love. We’re picking on Texas with Skylar Thompson, and I think he has more passing success than he’s had all year long. If Thompson does go over 200 yards through the air, Schoen is going to have a solid price. He’s targeted heavily in the red-zone and has a great shot at catching a touchdown for cheap.
Also Consider - K.J. Hamler, Kyle Pitts
