D'Angelo Russell Scores 12 Points Before Departing Early
5 years agoThe Golden State Warriors are no stranger to bad news on the injury front in 2019-20, which likely has them braced for the worst on point/shooting guard D'Angelo Russell. Russell, the team’s leading scorer, played 25 minutes Friday against the Boston Celtics before departing due to a sprained right thumb. In his time on the floor, he shot 5-for-10 from the field and finished with 12 points, seven assists and two rebounds, but also managed to commit nine turnovers. The team can ill afford to have him out of the mix on a nightly basis, with his next chance to return to action coming Sunday against the Pelicans. Owners can consider him questionable for that contest at the moment, with a potential absence paving the way for a slew of backcourt options to see more time and shots.
