Chris Clemons Drops Career-High 19 Points Off Bench
5 years agoHouston Rockets point/shooting guard Chris Clemons stepped into a significant role during Saturday’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves with Russell Westbrook sitting out the second leg of a back-to-back. Clemons shot 7-for-11 from the field during his 28 minutes, firing 5-for-9 from long range en route to a career-high 19-point showing. After having led college basketball in scoring average last season at Campbell (30.1 points per game), Clemons proved that he can score in bunches. The Rockets have been reticent to hand him significant minutes, so his performance Monday versus Portland is worth watching to see if he gets a chance at a repeat outing.
