Larry Nance Jr. Records 16 Points In First Start Of 2019-20
5 years agoCleveland Cavaliers power forward/center Larry Nance Jr. entered the starting five for the first time all season during Wednesday’s loss to the Miami Heat and logged a team-high 35 minutes. With Tristan Thompson (rest) out of the mix, Nance, who returned from a two-game absence due to a thumb sprain, collected 16 points and nine rebounds, also adding in two assists and two steals. Increased performance among the starters is nothing new for Nance, who nearly averaged a double-double (10.3 points, 9.8 rebounds per game) across his 30 starts last season. He’ll likely shift back to a bench role for Friday’s contest against the Dallas Mavericks with Thompson expected back, but Nance is a name worth keeping an eye on should either Thompson or Kevin Love miss any contests in the future.
