5 years agoChicago Bulls power forward Lauri Markkanen scuffled from the field to the tune of 3-for-12 shooting during Friday’s loss to the Miami Heat, accruing nine points across a season-low 24 minutes. It has been a flummoxing stretch for the third-year Finn, who saw his shooting percentage on the season dip to 36.5 percent overall following Friday’s contest. He did manage to add seven rebounds, but that was not enough to salvage his outing. Fortunately, he draws a favorable matchup Saturday against Charlotte, who ranks as one of the weaker teams in the league when it comes to defending opposing power forwards. Markkanen went for a monstrous 35-point, 17-rebound effort his last time facing the Hornets on Opening Night.--Jesse Borek
