Derrick Favors Ruled Out For Monday’s Contest
5 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans power forward/center Derrick Favors will miss his 12th consecutive game Monday versus the Detroit Pistons due to personal reasons. Although Favors has returned to the team after missing time due to his mother’s death, head coach Alvin Gentry stated that the Pelicans would be without Favors on Monday, although they hoped to have him for Wednesday's game. Without Favors in the mix, rookie Jaxson Hayes has traditionally been the team’s starter, but Gentry will pivot to Jahlil Okafor against Detroit. Both big men figure to stay heavily in the mix, but it appears Okafor has the inside track to a larger role for DFS purposes.
