Ricky Rubio Drops Season-High 25 Points Amid Double-Double
5 years agoPhoenix Suns point guard Ricky Rubio stepped up in the absence of Devin Booker (forearm) and led his squad in scoring and assists during Saturday’s overtime loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Rubio’s 25 points on 10-for-20 shooting marked a new season-high, while he continued his impressive run of finding teammates by dishing out 13 assists, now giving him a double-double in four of his last five outings. As his minutes have been ramped up over the past seven contests to the tune of 35.2 minutes on a nightly basis, he has compiled 12.1 assists per game in that span. Should Booker be held out again Monday versus Portland, Rubio would presumably be in line for another hefty workload.
