5 years agoPortland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard made mincemeat of the Golden State Warriors’ defense during Wednesday’s win. The four-time All-Star shot 9-for-20 from the field en route to a 31-point performance, also tying his season high in assists with 13, while adding five rebounds. It continued a trend that has spanned Lillard’s career, one in which he has mercilessly rained down points on the Warriors, whom he entered the night averaging 27.5 per game against, his highest mark versus any opponent. In addition, the performance marked his sixth double-double of the season and second in his last three games. He will aim to continue that hot stretch Friday versus Orlando, who is likely to severely slow down the pace in order to try and contain Lillard and company.--Jesse Borek
