5 years agoHouston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook led his team to a 122-117 win over the Los Angeles Clippers with 40 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two triples, and a steal. The Clippers had no answer for Westbrook's aggressive drives to the rim, except to foul him, which resulted in a season-high 12 of 13 makes from the charity stripe. The 31-year-old's scoring has surged in December to 26.6 PPG, up from 22 PPG in the first two months- certainly aided by his scorching 90.2 percent shooting from the line on 6.4 attempts. Westbrook is hot heading into a Saturday night matchup with the Phoenix Suns, who have surrendered the 10th-most points in the paint per game this year.--Tim Capurso
