Isaiah Thomas Scores 20 Points On Season-High 21 Shots
5 years agoWashington Wizards point guard Isaiah Thomas shouldered much of the offensive load left in the wake of Bradley Beal’s absence for Saturday’s loss to the New York Knicks. Thomas, who returned to the mix following a two-game suspension, finished 5-for-21 from the field and tied for the team high in scoring with 20 points. His minutes share at the point guard slot with Ish Smith remained intact, as Thomas also added four rebounds, four assists and a perfect 8-for-8 stint at the free-throw stripe. His next matchup comes Monday versus Miami, where he could once again see an increased offensive role against a squad he has averaged 21.2 points per game against in his career should Beal remain sidelined.
