Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Ties Career High In Return To Canada
5 years agoOklahoma City point/shooting guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander suited up in his hometown of Toronto on Sunday and helped key his team to victory by tying his career high with 32 points. Two of those points came with 36 seconds remaining on a jump shot that put the Thunder ahead for good, one of the 12 made field goals that Gilgeous-Alexander collected. In addition to the scoring, he packed his stat sheet with seven rebounds, three steals, three made threes and two assists in his 39 minutes, retaining an enormous role in the Oklahoma City offense so long as Danilo Gallinari (ankle) remains sidelined. Gilgeous-Alexander gets a stingy matchup to close out 2019 when he faces Dallas on Tuesday, although the second-year guard has averaged 27.3 points per game over his last six contests.
