Garrison Mathews Erupts For Career-High 28 Points Off Bench
5 years agoEntering play Monday versus Miami, Washington Wizards shooting guard/small forward Garrison Mathews had scored 30 points in 10 career professional games. With Bradley Beal (leg) ruled out, the Wizards have been searching for offensive output from anywhere that they can find it, and Mathews took advantage to the tune of a 28-point showing that saw him dominate one of the league’s premier defensive units, shooting 12-for-13 from the free-throw stripe, in addition to 6-for-9 from the field, including 4-for-7 from behind the arc. He also added four rebounds in his 29 minutes, a role that he may retain for New Year’s Day when he faces Orlando, as long as Beal remains out of the mix.
