5 years agoPortland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum will miss Sunday’s contest versus the Miami Heat due to an illness. Anfernee Simons figures to see an increased workload in McCollum’s absence, while Damian Lillard will presumably absorb a handful of McCollum’s shots. The illness marks the first time that McCollum has missed a game this season, having averaged 22.3 points across what is on pace to be a career-high 36.5 minutes per contest. His next chance to return to action comes Tuesday against Toronto.--Jesse Borek
