Garrison Mathews Carried Off Court With Ankle Injury
5 years agoWashington Wizards shooting guard/small forward Garrison Mathews departed Monday’s game versus the Boston Celtics early due to a right ankle sprain that he sustained during the first half. Mathews had to be carried off the floor after stepping on the foot of Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, and he has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Mathews has carved out a role for himself off the bench for Washington, having averaged 15.8 points over his past four games; he did not score in his four minutes prior to his departure. X-rays came back negative and he can safely be considered questionable for Wednesday’s game versus the Magic.
