5 years agoDetroit Pistons power forward/center Christian Wood took full advantage of Andre Drummond’s ejection early in the second half of Saturday’s loss to the Chicago Bulls, going on to set a new career high in rebounds with 14 amid his fifth double-double of the year. Wood logged a double-double against Chicago back on Nov. 20 as well, but his increased usage Saturday -- which saw him collect 17 points on 8-for-12 shooting -- appeared to be a one evening bit of fortune without Drummond available down the stretch. With Markieff Morris having returned from injury, it’s tough to see a path toward rostering Wood on a consistent basis for Monday’s game against New Orleans, even as he should still see considerable playing time as one of the first forwards off the bench.--Jesse Borek
