Keita Bates-Diop Pours In 15 Points Across 17 Minutes Off Bench
5 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves small/power forward Keita Bates-Diop delivered one of his better performances of the season off the bench despite playing only 17 minutes during Wednesday’s loss to the Indiana Pacers. Bates-Diop collected 15 points on 4-for-10 shooting, including going 2-for-3 from long range, and knocked down all five free throws that he attempted. It wasn’t just the scoring column that he attacked, as he also added six rebounds and three assists despite his stunted playing time. With Minnesota still scrambling for offensive punch without Karl-Anthony Towns (knee/illness), Bates-Diop has been a solid infusion of life for the second unit, having scored in double figures in three of his last four outings. He offers solid, if unspectacular, upside as a DFS punt play Friday should Towns remain out of the mix.
