5 years agoMemphis Grizzlies shooting guard Dillon Brooks did his best to avoid defeat on Monday by dropping a season-high 31 points to go with nine rebounds, four assists, three three-pointers and two steals. Brooks wasn't shy in this nationally televised game, hoisting a season-high 25 shots and canning 12 of them. He's playing some of the best basketball of his career at this point with three straight outings over 20 points, as well as five of his last six. Despite the loss to the Pelicans, the Grizzlies find themselves an unexpected fixture in the west playoff picture at 20-23, good for eighth in the conference. That gives them something to play for in the second half of the season, and if Brooks continues this stellar play, a postseason spot might not be out of the question.--Daniel Lubofsky - RotoBaller
