Trey Lyles Scores Season-High 23 Points Against Portland
5 years agoSan Antonio Spurs forward Trey Lyles had his best game of the season on Thursday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. In the 125-117 loss, Lyles collected his first double-double of the campaign with a season-high 23 points on 9-for-11 shooting, 10 rebounds, and two steals in 34 minutes. The 2015 lottery pick also drained a season-high four three-pointers in his first game cracking the 30-point barrier this year. Lyles has struggled to settle down in his first season in San Antonio but has now scored 10-plus points in four of his last six games. If Thursday's performance gains him more offensive opportunities, he could turn out to be a much-needed third option in the Spurs frontcourt alongside LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan.
