5 years agoDetroit Pistons power forward/center Thon Maker rejoined the starting five for Friday’s defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder and collected a season-best 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting overall. With Andre Drummond traded to Cleveland, Maker appears in line to enjoy not only the benefits of starting, but of having unimpeded access to contributing on both ends of the floor. After back-to-back scoreless efforts his last two times out, Maker knocked down multiple threes for the first time this year. He also pitched in with seven rebounds and two assists across his 34 minutes, as he formally made a bid for a roster spot in medium-sized formats moving forward.--Jesse Borek
