RJ Barrett Scuffles From Field In Return To Starting Five
5 years agoNew York Knicks point/shooting guard RJ Barrett rejoined the starting lineup for Saturday’s win over the Detroit Pistons after a one-game stint with the second unit, but he was unable to get into an offensive rhythm across his 21 minutes. Barrett finished with one or fewer made field goals for the fifth time in his rookie year, collecting just three points to go along with two rebounds and two assists. The Knicks’ rotation continues to remain deep in the post-Trade Deadline haze, which could cut into Barrett’s value in the short-term. His decreased minutes total could benefit him Sunday in the second leg of a back-to-back against a porous Hawks defensive unit that will ramp up the pace, thereby potentially yielding him ample shot opportunities.
