Naz Reid Nearly Notches Double-Double In First Start
5 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves power forward/center Naz Reid entered the starting five during Friday’s loss to the Boston Celtics in the absence of Karl-Anthony Towns (wrist) and collected 19 points and nine rebounds across a career-high 33 minutes. Most encouraging moving forward for the undrafted rookie was that he got up 15 shot attempts, while outplaying veteran James Johnson, who saw 21 minutes off the bench. In 16 games with the Iowa Wolves of the G League this season, Reid has averaged 18.4 points and 9.8 rebounds, while averaging two made triples on a nightly basis. With Towns set to be sidelined for at least two weeks, Reid is worth at least a speculative add in a variety of formats due to his high-octane scoring ability.
