5 years agoBoston Celtics small/power forward Gordon Hayward poured in 29 points on 12-for-17 shooting during Friday’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, leading his squad in scoring for the second time in the last three games. With Kemba Walker (knee) sidelined for the foreseeable future, Hayward is likely to see an increase in value with additional shot attempts coming his way. While packing the stat sheet with six assists, five rebounds and two steals helped deliver one of his best all-around performances of the year, the fact that Hayward has dropped at least 20 points in nine of his last 11 outings bodes well for his future prospects. That strong stretch will be put to the test Sunday against the Lakers, who have been excellent in defending opposing forwards this season.--Jesse Borek
