Andre Drummond Confirms He'll Pick Up Player Option
4 years agoCleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond confirms that he'll be accepting his player option for the 2021-2022 season, according to an ESPN podcast. His player option is worth $28.7 million, so it's not surprising that Drummond has decided to take the money rather than test himself out in free agency. He seemed unsure back in April, but it's unlikely he'd get anything close to that on the open market. This could hurt the chances of Tristan Thompson returning to Cleveland next season. Drummond averaged 17.5 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists during his eight games with the Cavs. His fantasy value could see a slight decrease in Cleveland, but Drummond will find a way to remain productive.
