Bradley Beal Will Not Play In Orlando Due To Shoulder Injury
4 years agoWashington Wizards guard Bradley Beal (shoulder) will not be participating in the NBA's season restart as a result of a right rotator cuff injury, the team announced on Tuesday. Beal becomes the second member of the Wizards to opt out of the NBA's restart in Orlando, with power forward Davis Bertans announcing that he will not be playing on June 22. The 27-year-old Latvian explained that he would not participate due to his pending free agency, after posting 15.4 points per game on 42% shooting from three-point range. Beal's tremendous season was highlighted by career-highs of 30.5 points, 6.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds on 45.5% shooting from the field. The loss of Beal and Bertans will result in additional minutes and opportunity for players such as Thomas Bryant, Rui Hachimura and Ish Smith in the eight games scheduled to begin on July 30.
