4 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras has made the Opening Day Roster for the 2020 season. He is ranked by Baseball America as the third-best prospect in the organization. Taveras excels in the defensive aspects of the game, but his bat needs to improve to get in the starting lineup. Taveras batted .279/.344/.376 with five home runs and 32 stolen bases over 131 games last season between High-A Down and Double-A. It would take a major flop from another Rangers outfielder to get him regular at bats in this shortened season, but crazier things have happened. His speed could make him a situational base runner when needed. Unfortunately that doesn’t do a lot for fantasy managers. He is worth a stash in a deep keeper or dynasty league in the event that his bat catches up to his glove.--Euan Leith
