Welcome to the 2020 MLB Season! While the delay has now been well over four months, it is finally time to start the season and we here at RotoBaller could not be more excited! The season will be a sprint to the finish as the teams will be playing 60 games across 66 days and we will be here every day to ensure you get the best fantasy baseball advice on the market.
RotoBaller's has been dishing out streamer advice for years. We're always streamin and dreamin. Each day we'll publish some of the best streaming options to consider in your fantasy baseball daily league lineups. Streaming pitchers and position players to exploit a matchup are extremely important in fantasy baseball, especially in a truncated season like this one.
We will breakdown the streaming options into tiers: shallow leagues (rostered level between 35% and 50%), deep leagues (rostered level between 20% and 35%), and the deepest leagues (rostered level under 20%). Just because a player is recommended in one tier, does not mean he cannot be used in another tier. For instance, if a player is 50% rostered, but is available in your deeper league, feel free to stream him there! Finally, make sure to monitor MLB Starting Lineups to see who's sitting and starting, to ensure these players are actually in their lineups!

Shallow League Streamers (50% Rostered)
Hitters to Stream:
Hunter Renfroe OF, TB) - 52% Rostered
There will be a couple of Rays in this article for the second week in a row (2/4 days) because they hit left-handed pitching well, plain and simple. Max Fried is not a bad pitcher, but he has struggled vs. right-handed hitters. In 2019, Fried had a .356 BABIP, 4.18 ERA, and 1.495 WHIP vs them. He also gave up 15 of his 19 homers to right-handed hitters. Renfroe's success vs left-handers was documented last week as he has a +28% OPS vs. left-handed pitching since 2017 and has hit 30 HR across 434 PA over that same span. Last week vs. Ryu, Renfroe was slotted second in the lineup, so that will definitely be something to pay attention to heading into the slate.
Deeper League Streamers (25% Rostered)
Pitchers to Stream:
Brady Singer (SP, KC) - 28% Rostered
Brady Singer showed some rather filthy stuff in his MLB debut last week vs the Indians by striking out seven over five innings pitched in a no-decision. Thursday, Singer goes up against the lowly Tigers and could find success again. The Tigers have continued their struggles vs. right-handed pitching in 2020 by striking out a whopping 45.7% of the time. They also have only put up a 2.10/.272/.419 slash line vs. righties. Singer should make for a solid play.
Hitters to Stream:
Yandy Diaz, (1B/3B, TB) - 23% Rostered
Max Fried draws a tough matchup vs. the Rays on Thursday as he will be facing a Rays team that handled left-handed pitching to the tune of ranking 11th in wRC+ in 2019. A big part of that was Diaz who had a slash line of .311/.393/.583 vs. lefties with a .976 OPS. Diaz will also likely be leading off.
Renato Nunez (1B /3B, BAL) - 35% Rostered
Renato Nunez was one of my favorite sleepers heading into 2020 and part of that reason is his ability to hit left-handed pitching. In 2019, Nunez had a superb .362 wOBA vs. lefties and hit 13 of his 30 HR vs them. He also managed a .275 AVG and .333 OBP. J.A. Happ has struggled vs. right-handed hitters in the past and has really struggled against Nunez who is 11/19 with four HR off of him over his career. He is a must stream and DFS play for me.
Deepest League Streamers (10% Rostered)
Hitters to Stream:
Alex Gordon (OF, KC) - 2% Rostered
Alex Gordon has not been as solid over the past few seasons as he was early in his career, but he could still provide some value Thursday night when he faces Ivan Nova and the Tigers. Nova is not good on most days and is even worse vs. left-handed hitters. Since 2018, Nova has allowed a .291 BAA to lefties and has given up 33 HR across 751 batters. On the flip side, Gordon put up a respectable .337 wOBA and hit ten of his 13 bombs vs. righties in 2019. Gordon is also a career 7/20 with two bombs off Nova if you're into that sort of thing.
Ryan O'Hearn (1B, KC) - 1% Rostered
I am going to stick with the right-handed Royals theme here and nominate Ryan O'Hearn as a streamer candidate. Nova's struggles vs. lefties are well-documented, and O'Hearn has shown the ability to hit right-handed pitching well in the past. While he only managed a .294 wOBA vs, righties in 2019, in 2018, O'Hearn had a massive .457 wOBA and 10 HR across 110 at-bats. These numbers are eye-popping and if you're in the mood to take a risk on a bomb, he is probably the guy I would play. He will likely be a value DFS play as well.
Hanser Alberto (2B/3B, BAL) - 8% Rostered
I was hesitant to put two orioles in this article, but Alberto fits the mold here. In 2019 vs. left-handed pitching, Alberto put up a wOBA of .419 and hit close to .400 (398). He hit five of his 12 HR vs. lefties and also put up a .948 OPS. I like using him vs. lefties that struggle to get right-handed hitters out and Happ fits that mold. For his career, Alberto is 6/13 with one HR and a 1.308 OPS against Happ as well.
