Foster Griffin Placed On 45-Day IL With Arm Injury
4 years agoKansas City Royals left-handed Foster Griffin was perfect for five outs in his Major League debut Monday before departing due to a left forearm strain that will now sideline him into at least September. A first-round Draft choice in 2014, Griffin could have seen a considerable workload in the shortened 2020 campaign as the Royals navigate a pitching staff that is behind the 8-ball without right-handers Jakob Junis and Brad Keller yet available. In addition to the loss of Griffin, right-handed pitcher Jorge Lopez was placed on the bereavement list, leaving Kansas City’s staff even more short-handed. Neither Griffin nor Lopez merits much fantasy consideration at this stage, although their absence paves the way for other young arms to get a look moving forward.
