4 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid wasted no time reestablishing his dominance as one of the league’s premier stars during Saturday’s defeat to the Indiana Pacers. Embiid finished with 41 points and 21 rebounds, marking his second career 40-20 outing. He was all over the floor during his 34 minutes, shooting 15-for-23, while going 10-for-12 from the free-throw stripe and adding four assists and three blocks. Even with Ben Simmons moving primarily off the point guard spot, the Sixers’ offense still ran through Embiid, who was ferocious on the offensive glass, collecting a career-best nine boards on that end. His next matchup comes against San Antonio on Monday, who has fared well at corralling opposing centers this season, even though Embiid posted a double-double in their lone meeting back in November.--Jesse Borek
