Gleyber Torres Snaps Out Of 0-For-24 Skid Saturday
4 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres entered play Saturday mired in an 0-for-24 slump that had dropped his batting average to .119. He broke out immediately with a hit off Rays starter Tyler Glasnow in the second. Entering play, Torres’ .167 wOBA and .260 wOBAcon both ranked in the bottom ten percentile of the league, a drastic shift from the All-Star form that he had crafted over the previous two seasons. Torres remains an elite option at shortstop as the Yankees will stick by the 23-year-old as he works through his early year scuffles.
