4 years agoDetroit Tigers right-handed pitcher Ivan Nova has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to right triceps tendinitis, thereby freeing up a spot in the club’s starting rotation. Nova has been hit hard across his first four starts of 2020, amassing an 8.48 ERA and 1.63 WHIP. He has held very little fantasy intrigue, but his absence creates a ton; with a Pipeline chock full of talented and exciting arms, the Tigers are running out of reasons to not call up at least one of their top prospects. Casey Mize, the No. 1 overall pick in 2018, tops the list as a possibility, but owners will want to check back to see who takes Nova’s spot, at least in the short-term.--Jesse Borek
