4 years agoNew York Mets left-handed pitcher Steven Matz may have his spot in the team’s rotation up for review as manager Luis Rojas would not commit to Matz making his upcoming scheduled start next week against Miami. The move comes as something of a surprise with the Mets’ rotation already decimated by injuries of varying degrees to Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Marcus Stroman. Matz would be on the road to face the Marlins, which has been a disaster for him both this (13.50 ERA) and last year (6.62). Opposing batters have tagged Matz overall to the tune of a .995 OPS through his first five starts, making him a non-entity in season-long formats. Check back to get an update on whether he’ll start Thursday, but regardless, DFS and season-long owners alike can look elsewhere.--Jesse Borek
