4 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton is in the starting lineup on Wednesday despite his awful start to the season. Manager Joe Maddon is trying to get Upton back on track after the 32-year-old posted a .100/.179/.200 slash line over his first 17 games, but Upton has shown few encouraging signs with a remarkably poor .222 xwOBA for the season. It’s unlikely that Upton receives regular playing time over the rest of the season with Jo Adell called up and Andrelton Simmons (ankle) nearing a return from his ankle injury, so Maddon’s attempts to heat Upton up are likely to be short-lived, and fantasy players shouldn’t invest in the outfielder as a result.--Sam Chinitz
