Dane Dunning Optioned To Alternate Training Site After Debut
4 years agoChicago White Sox right-handed pitcher Dane Dunning has been sent back to the club’s alternate training site after having made his Major League debut Wednesday against Detroit. Dunning, the club's No. 8 prospect per MLB Pipeline, worked 4 ⅓ frames in his first start, allowing three runs while striking out seven batters. But with the club having off-days on the horizon, his spot in the rotation was ultimately skipped. It’s likely that Dunning finds his way back up to Chicago at some point in 2020, although he cannot yet be relied upon as a consistent season-long asset. Owners will want to keep his name in mind though as an upside DFS play when he returns.
