FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (8/25/20): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Tuesday brings two more exciting second-round matchups featuring Boston and Tampa Bay along with the Vegas Golden Knights facing off against the Vancouver Canucks.

Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. The Canuks-Golden Knights and Bruins-Lightning games both have 5.5 goal totals. The Bruins are -110 road favorites and up 1-0 in the series while the Golden Knights are -210 home favorites who also lead their series 1-0.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/25/20. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @awlenn. Let's go!!

DFS Forwards to Consider

Mark Stone - RW, VAN vs. VGK (FD - $6,200, DK - $6,200)

Winnipeg, Manitoba native Mark Stone has been cruising through the postseason for the Vegas Golden Knights. He now has five goals and five assists in nine games. Stone ranks ninth in the league in postseason points, and he should be seriously considered for your DFS lineup.

Brad Marchand- LW, BOS vs. TB. (FD - $8,000, DK - $6,700)

Brad Marchand is an excellent pickup for DFS lineups come playoff time. Marchand and the Bruins continue to roll as they defeated the Lightning in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference second-round series. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native had a goal and an assist Sunday night.  Marchand has been on fire for the Bruins in their last five games, scoring four goals while adding three helpers.

Others To Consider:

Max Pacioretty should be added to DFS lineups. The Golden Knights forward now has two goals and an assist in his last two games after being held scoreless the previous three.

Pacioretty's teammate, Alex Tuch, has been a consistent contributor to his team.  He has five goals and two assists in nine postseason games.

Fellow countrymen David Pastrnak and David Krejci should be looked at to add to DFS lineups. The Czech forwards both had points in Game 1 against Tampa Bay.

Lightning Forward Brayden Point has been the team's best player throughout the postseason. In Tampa Bays' last five games, Point has lit the lamp twice while adding four assists to his postseason point totals.

Other forwards worth looking into include Reilly Smith, Patrice Bergeron, Nikita Kucherov, Ellias Pettersson, J.T. Miller.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Shea Theodore - D, VAN vs. VGK (FD - $6,200, DK - $6,100)

Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore has been a force on the team's blueline all season long. Through nine postseason games, Theodore has four goals and five assists. Theodore typically plays the right point with Max Pacioretty on the left point for the team's first powerplay unit.

Victor Hedman- D, BOS vs. TB (FD - $6,700, DK - $5,400)

One bright spot for the Lightning in a Game 1 loss to the Bruins was Victor Hedman scoring two goals. Hedman added both of his tallies in the third period, but the Lightning still lost 3-2. Hedman's play has steadily improved after having an injury scare early in round-robin play.

Other choices for Monday may include Nate Schmidt, Quinn Hughes, Torey Krug, Charlie McAvoy, Alexander Edler, Kevin Shattenkirk.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Robin Lehner - G, VAN vs. LGK (FD - $8,700,  DK- $8,200)

If there are still any doubters out there of  Vegas goaltender Robin Lehners game, his latest performance will surely shut them up. Lehner made 26 saves and posted a shutout against the Canucks on Sunday. Lehner now has a 9-1 record with Vegas after being traded from Chicago earlier in the season. Lehner has defeated the Canucks three times in his career, with each win being a shutout. Robin Lehner should be seriously considered as your goalie for DFS on Tuesday.

Lighting goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy might be worth looking into for your DFS lineup. Vasilevskiy made 28 saves of 31 Bruins shots in a losing effort. Hopefully, the Russian netminder and his Lightning teammates can bounce back in Game 2 on Tuesday.
