4 years agoNew York Mets left-handed pitcher Steven Matz was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday due to left shoulder discomfort. This move by the Mets comes a day after he exited Game 1 of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Yankees following just one inning of relief. Irrespective of the injury which will now sideline Matz, the Mets had already opted to look elsewhere for starting rotation options due to Matz's season long struggles. On the season, Matz owns an 0-4 record to go with a woeful 8.63 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP. Any modicum of fantasy value that Matz retained after his banishment to the bullpen is all but extinguished due to this injury. Matz can be ignored in all formats.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
