Gleyber Torres Rejoins Starting Lineup Saturday
4 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres was activated off of the injured list prior to Saturday’s contest against the Orioles and left-hander Keegan Akin. Torres has been out since Aug. 20 due to a hamstring strain, but will rejoin the starting nine and reclaim his spot at short. After a tremendous offensive campaign in 2019, Torres has taken a while to get going in 2020, with just three extra-base hits in his first 24 games. New York will give him ample opportunities to find his stroke down the stretch, as he’s likely to remain in the heart of the club’s order during September, giving him season-long appeal in all formats.
