BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 9% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The Detroit Tigers have been better than expected this year and despite sporting a 20-24 record and likely missing out on the playoffs, they have some exciting players on their roster including infielder Willi Castro. Castro didn't make his season debut until August 12th but has now played in 23 games and has only failed to reach base in four games putting up a .354/.381/.544 slash line. Castro has more stolen bases than home runs in his Minor League career (41 homers and 99 steals) but has so far yet to steal a base although he has homered three times. Castro has also logged nine multi-hit games this year which has helped him reach double-digit runs (10) and RBI (13).
Castro has started at shortstop and hit fifth in the order in each of the Tigers' last 11 games which should help him tally runs and RBI pretty equally over the final two weeks of the season, even though his batting average is inflated by a .472 BABIP. With so few games left, it's fine to assume Castro's batting average can stay elevated and his dual-position eligibility offers some roster flexibility for your team too. The Tigers have shown the ability to score runs this year (205 runs scored in 44 games) and have scored double-digit runs in five games so they aren't lacking on offense as much as you might expect. Castro is definitely worth rostering in leagues with 12+ teams.
