Preston Williams (WR, MIA) - Week 2 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED: 38% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: Some fantasy GMs will check the Week 1 fantasy-point leaderboard and deem Williams as a bust and not worth waiver wire addition. And they will be super wrong with that approach. Don't be that guy, please. First of all, Miami faced New England last Sunday, which meant they went against a rather good defensive corps. On top of that, CB Stephon Gilmore shadowed Williams instead of DeVante Parker. Adding wood to the fire, Parker had to leave the game injured, putting all of the attention on Williams. Should I keep going?

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers received five total writing awards and 13 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, tops in the industry! Congrats to all the award winners and nominees including Best NFL Series, MLB Series, NBA Writer, PGA Writer and Player Notes writer of the year. William's numbers weren't staggering, but there were plenty of reasons for it. The receiver finished with just two receptions on seven targets, but the volume was definitely there and he still reached 41 receiving yards with those two grabs. It's not surprising to find Williams' 20.5 Y/R ranking fourth among wideouts with 2+ receptions through Sunday. William's 6.1 PPR points were on the putrid side of things, but he will only get up from there.

Last season, in just eight games, Williams was targeted as the WR3 just two passes behind WR2 Albert Wilson although the latter played in 13 contests. There is no denying Parker as the clear no. 1 receiver of the Dolphins, but other than him and TE Mike Gesicki the receiving corps dry too quickly. Keep an eye on Parker's status for Week 2, as Williams could be the de facto WR1 for Miami next week. If Parker is out for long I'd name Preston as a must-add in every league, if not, he's still a great option for 12+ team leagues.
