Knicks Pass On Offering Frank Ntilikina An Extension
4 years agoNew York Knicks point guard Frank Ntilikina has had a much-maligned start to his NBA career since having been selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Over 178 games, he has averaged 6.0 points and 3.1 assists per game, all while shooting just 36.6 percent overall, including 31.1 percent from long range. With those numbers in mind, the Knicks' front office was not inclined to even offer Ntilikina a potential contract extension off of his rookie deal, which will make him a restricted free agent next summer. New York is set to have a tremendously crowded backcourt this year, and with Ntilikina not tied to the team next year, his minutes could correspondingly see a decrease. He isn't a fantasy asset in any sized league to begin 2020.
