Karl-Anthony Towns Flirts With Triple-Double In Season Opener
4 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns got off to a slow start in Wednesday's win over the Pistons, but he ultimately finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists across his 30 minutes. In addition to adding two blocked shots, Towns was also perfect from the free-throw stripe, knocking down all eight of his attempts. A premier fantasy asset, Minnesota's offense remains predicated around Towns' immense abilities both inside of the arc and beyond it. The late swap to shift D'Angelo Russell to the bench to begin the game may have had an effect on Towns' early production, a move that isn't likely to remain in place Saturday when the Timberwolves return to the court to face the Jazz. For his career, Towns has averaged 22.5 points and 11.2 rebounds during the regular season when facing Utah.
