San Antonio Plays LaMarcus Aldridge Just 20 Minutes In Defeat
4 years agoSan Antonio Spurs power forward/center LaMarcus Aldridge had gotten off to somewhat of a rocky start to begin 2020-21 from where his statistical production normally lies, but after logging just 20 minutes in a close loss Sunday versus the Pelicans, it's fair to question where he stands. Aldridge received the start, but he shot 2-for-7 from the floor overall, finishing with four points, four rebounds, and two blocks. The 20 minutes mark his fewest played in a regular season contest since March 27, 2018, with the team instead deploying Rudy Gay and Jakob Poeltl in the frontcourt at stretches. Now in his age-35 season, it's fair to assume that the Spurs will be cautious with Aldridge's workload if nothing else. The team is not scheduled for a back-to-back over the next two weeks, so fantasy managers can use that period to assess where the veteran lies in the Spurs' plans moving forward.
