Kemba Walker Not Expected Back In Near Future
4 years agoBoston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker (knee) is reportedly progressing in his rehab from a knee ailment, but head coach Brad Stevens cautioned Tuesday that Walker "won't be back anytime soon." The Celtics are expected to have another update on Walker sometime next week, but fantasy managers can anticipate not seeing the former All-Star for the foreseeable future. His absence should allow Marcus Smart to continue serving as Boston's starting point guard, with Jeff Teague entrenched in the backup role, as Payton Pritchard also draws minutes. Walker is worth a stash on injured reserve if available, but he sounds far enough away that he shouldn't clog up an open roster spot heading into January.
