Austin Rivers Upgraded To Questionable For Thursday
4 years agoNew York Knicks point/shooting guard Austin Rivers (groin) has been deemed questionable to play in Thursday's game versus Toronto due to a sore groin. Rivers has not yet taken the floor this year, allowing Elfrid Payton nearly unabated access to starting point guard duties with Dennis Smith Jr. (quadriceps) also battling injuries. Should Rivers ultimately get the green light to suit up, he would likely cut into the minutes of Payton and Reggie Bullock, as the veteran should also see minutes at the off-guard spot. With so much uncertainty in a crowded Knicks backcourt, Rivers can remain on the waiver wire in all season-long formats for the time being. Check back prior to tip-off to get the final word on his status.
