4 years agoChicago Bulls small/power forward Otto Porter (back) has been ruled out for Monday's game versus Houston due to a strained lower back. Porter's absence will be his second of the year, paving the way for Thaddeus Young to see an increased role off the bench behind both Patrick Williams (hip) and Lauri Markkanen. Porter has shifted back into a role with the second unit upon Markkanen's return, yet he has retained season-long intrigue, having scored in double figures in five of his six games coming off the bench, seeing a higher usage rate (21.1 percent) than as a starter (19.7). His next chance to return to action comes Friday against the Hornets.--Jesse Borek
