D'Angelo Russell Unlikely To Suit Up Monday
4 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves point/shooting guard D'Angelo Russell (quad) has been deemed "unlikely" to play in Monday's game versus Golden State, per head coach Ryan Saunders. Russell sat out the team's most recent contest due to rest purposes, but also picked up the quad ailment Friday. His absence paves the way for Ricky Rubio to remain among the starting five, although the team could continue to monitor his minutes in his return from the league's health and safety protocols, making him a finicky DFS asset. Minnesota will be massively short-handed should Russell ultimately sit, as Karl-Anthony Towns remains sidelined due to COVID-19, leaving Malik Beasley, Anthony Edwards, Jarred Vanderbilt, and others to carry the offensive workload in their absence.
