4 years agoPortland Trail Blazers forward Robert Covington had another strong game in his team's sixth straight win Wednesday. Covington filled up the box score with 12 points, eight rebounds, four blocks, two steals, two triples, and an assist in 38 minutes of action against the Pelicans. The seven-year veteran won't wow anyone with his shooting efficiency or points totals, but he's a legitimate star in his role as a defensive ace. Over the last seven games, Covington is averaging 2.1 blocks and 2.0 steals per game while making at least one three-pointer in each of those contests. Up next is a Saturday matchup against the Wizards, who yielded Covington's best offensive game of the season- 19 points and five triples- earlier this year.--Tim Capurso
