Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! My Name is Koby and I'll be here all season long to help guide you through the COD DFS world. Welcome back to another great week of COD DFS! Thanks to the wonderful weather throughout the USA, the weekend set of games were postponed to this week! We get a full week of COD League From Monday to Sunday! So that means we get lots of DFS slates to go with it. The first slate is for Tuesday and it brings a great set of games as Florida takes on Paris as well as Minnesota taking on Seattle and last but not least New York Subliners taking on the London Royal Ravens.
Today though we had Florida beat the Guerrillas in 3-1 fashion as well as FaZe pulling off a last-second win against Toronto in Game 4 to finish the day. FaZe is going to be a dominant team as SIMP is on a rampage. They are going to be a hard team to ignore. This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test!
Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Atlanta Home Series
Best of 5
- Florida Mutineers (-800) vs. LA Guerrillas (+425)
- Seattle Surge (+295) vs. Minnesota Rokkr (-450)
- London Royal Ravens (+165) vs. New York Subliners (-230)
Slate Overview
Note: This slate is going to look very familiar if you read my last article as the weather delays have pushed two of the games to tomorrow's slate. Florida is also playing again but against Paris instead of LA.
This is going to be a great slate of games and I'm excited to watch them and is going to give us a great idea of who is going to separate them from the rest of the pack. Lots of middle-of-the-pack teams playing here and it will give us an idea in the future as to who we pick. No Atlanta Faze and No Dallas Empire to clog up the chalk of the day. Florida Mutineers as well as Minnesota after their massive upset over Dallas on Sunday look like the best places to start your stack. I just can't seem to get this team right I picked them to beat LA Thieves on Thursday and they got blown out of the water and then picked against them just for them to win. So who knows Seattle might pull off a big upset this week which is always possible with Octane who helped lead the team to a victory over London on Sunday. Seattle has the ability to pull off the upset too but Minnesota is going to be a tough place to do that. So Minnesota is the pick.
The close match is New York Subliners and London Royal Ravens. It's a tough pick but I'm going Subliners as they have more experienced talent on their team in Clayster, Mack, and Asim. Although the rookie in Diamoncon needs to step in big ways to make this team a contender. Give me NYS to win 3-1. NYS is going to be a lot lower owned than the other two favorites and could score very well as they could be the only team on the slate to take it to 4 games which can give them a huge point boost if they play well in that 4th game.
COD DFS Basics
- Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
- You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
- Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
- In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
- They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
- There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.
COD DFS Captain Considerations
Neptune/Owakening: I knew as soon as Neptune got a chance his price would skyrocket and well that's exactly what happened. He is now our highest-priced player in probably the best spot on this slate. It makes it extremely difficult to get both him and Owakening so more than likely you are going to have to make a choice. Either way, you are going to be getting a player that scores really well, and if Florida sweeps as I expect them to. Both Neptune and Owakening should be scoring 120+ points which can be a 180 in the captain spot. Neptune should only get better from here with experience and Owakening started off great as well and that should continue even in losses he had 90+ kills. Both of them dropped positive K/Ds in a loss so it'll be great to see how well they do in a win against a favorable opponent.
Accuracy: Accuracy has looked Phenomenal this year so far. Even in the first game of the year where Minnesota lost, Accuracy was the lone positive K/D on his team. He is averaging 104 DKP per game currently and holds about a 1.03 K/D. This team doesn't struggle to get its fair share of kills in hardpoint. Accuracy has averaged 25 kills per hardpoint match and has two matches over 32 in that span as well. I like the discount we are getting here versus Clayster and Neptune and could be one of the highest-scoring players on the Rokkr if he keeps this level of play up.
Other captain plays: Octane, Clayster, Attach
COD DFS Value Plays
Slacked: Slacked had a rough match against Toronto but he is simply too cheap for a possible sweep bonus and more than likely will be very chalky coming into this slate. It could be worth the chalk though as with a sweep bonus he has 100+ DKP upside and ill take that for the 6,000 and if you put him in the captain spot and he gets over that 100+ point mark he will score 150+ and that allows you to get some higher-priced players which can be a game-changer in getting a high score and possibly pulling a takedown.
Mack: It's hard to gauge Mack's performance off one game against a tough opponent in LA Thieves. Last year Mack was a feared opponent as he could take over games and cause havoc on the battlefield and I think this is an excellent place for him to make a rebound in a more favorable matchup and we get him at only 7.8k which is great for someone who averaged nearly 100 DKP per match last year. If this match goes to 4 games, Mack has 90+ kill potential and he will need to step up big this week against London to make sure to get a dub on the board this week as they play Minnesota on Thursday in a tougher matchup.
Other value plays: Asim, Priestahh, Alexx, Skyz
COD DFS Stacks
Florida: I know, I hyped them up last week big time and they got mopped by Toronto. But this is a get right spot against Paris who is the worst team in the league and Florida can take advantage of this as they are a lot better than they showed last Saturday. They still scored very well all dropping over 100 points and Neptune and Owakening dropping 90+ kills. Neptune is a fantastic player and I knew as soon as he got the chance and showed it he was going to get a price jump and he did quickly. It's a hefty price to pay for him but if he can continue his tear on the league his price will be worthy. Owakening did great as well, and I do believe that Slacked is still too cheap for his potential upside. Skyz looked a lot better today than he did last week dropping the team-high of 91 kills. I'm liking Skyz a little bit more than Slacked so if it fits go for Skyz but Slacked is still incredibly cheap and it's going to be hard to ignore.
Minnesota: Minnesota pulled off the massive upset against Dallas last week and looked great in that matchup. That was a big rebound win for them after the devastating loss in the first game where they got beat 3-1 against the LA Thieves. Priestahh stepped up huge as he dropped 106 kills after his lackluster performance in his first game dropping half that. Accuracy has also looked really good in both games this season which is encouraging after last year he struggled in his tenure on the New York Subliners. Attach is also very consistent play and I like his ability to take control of a game and start to go off on the drop of a dime. The only worry I have with this Minnesota team is they have struggled on Hardpoint where they are 0-4 on the season. If Seattle can pull this in their favorite, Seattle has a chance to pull off the upset but that means Seattle winning in either S&D or Control and I don't like those odds. I think they split the hardpoint matches and Minnesota wins 3-1.
Other Team Plays: NY Subliners, London Royal Ravens
Summary
- TLDR: Florida 3-0, Minnesota 3-1, New York Subliners 3-1.
- I think the best chance of an upset here is London over New York as both of these teams are middle to lower-tier teams and really anything can happen at the bottom.
- Florida is going to be the clear team to start your stacks with. Yes, it's expensive but they are the clear team to go and get the sweep here.
- Seattle looked good against London on Sunday and I think they continue the momentum into this one taking on Minnesota who upset Dallas. Although I do believe Minnesota wins this, Seattle would definitely be a low-owned stack that could win you a tournament in the events Seattle pulls off the upset.
